‘Actually excellent winners’ shine via at St Helens Borough Enterprise Awards

THE WINNERS of the St Helens Borough Business Awards were announced in a glamorous ceremony on Friday October 15th at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

In partnership with St. Helens Borough Council and sponsored by Paramount Digital, the event celebrated St. Helens’ best businesses while providing the perfect networking and entertainment opportunity.

Supported by Glass Futures and Torus, 300 guests were welcomed to the event by host Pete Emmett before an inspiring guest speech by local boxer Martin Murray was given.

As a community-based event, the awards also raised money for two local charities, the Steve Prescott Foundation and Halton and St Helens VCA, with donations being split between them.

After a difficult 18 months, the award ceremony was intended to recognize the work of the local people who, despite the restrictions of the pandemic, have been successful or have made a positive contribution to the community.

With a wide and diverse range of companies nominated for the awards, the winners are as follows:

Tracy Mawson, Chief Executive of St Helens Chamber, said, “We were blown away by the amount and caliber of entries to the St Helens Borough Business Awards. After such a tumultuous time for businesses across the district, it was encouraging to see so many talent during this year’s judging process. The judges had a really tough job to do, but I think we found some really great winners.

“For me, the awards show the depth and breadth of the business world here in the district and that diversity is our strength.”

Councilor David Baines, Chairman of St. Helens Borough Council, added, “The past 18 months have been extremely tough for businesses and it’s great to be able to celebrate and recognize some of the many examples of resilience, innovation and achievement in the industry locally Economy despite the pandemic and all the challenges it has brought with it.

“Seeing the caliber of the finalists, their stories, their people and their progress gives me the greatest assurance that we as a district can look ahead with confidence.

“The quality of submissions this year was second to none and we are proud to host such a prestigious event that puts companies from all sectors in the spotlight.”
