Following the appointment of an interior designer for the project, new details were revealed to convert the North Western Hall in Liverpool into a Radisson Hotel.
Manchester-based Koncept ID has signed a contract with Deansgate Contractors and will partner with Radisson Hotel Group and a leading independent European fund manager with extensive real estate experience to remodel the listed 1871 building.
The new hotel will be the latest in the Radisson RED brand – a concept designed to appeal to millennial audiences through art, music and fashion.
One of only three Radisson RED hotels in the UK to be followed, the destination Liverpool is directly connected to Lime Street Station and will offer 201 rooms, including five suites on the upper floors.
Radisson RED’s hallmarks include impressive art installations, high-performance technology and an open, relaxed design. Koncept ID has worked closely with the group to bring the playful style to Liverpool while retaining existing historical features.
Thanks to the central atrium of the building, the entrance is flooded with light and has magnificent arches, columns and ceiling details.
The common areas on the ground floor will include a lounge area, meeting rooms and multifunctional break rooms where guests can check in and feel at home. There is also a restaurant on the ground floor with the impressive double-height room.
In the basement there is a meeting and conference area with a breakout area and coffee bar as well as separate fitness facilities. This area, which was originally used as staff quarters, is twice as high with large archways and is provided with exposed brickwork and concrete surfaces.
Koncept ID will manage the interior design of the £ 20 million project. Radisson RED Liverpool is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2022.
Jenny Denton, Lead Designer, said: “The North Western Hall is one of Liverpool’s most recognizable landmarks and thanks to its central location and direct access to the train station, the hotel has the potential to become a real travel destination for the city.”
