Spotify enters multiyear partnership with Warner Bros and DC

Warner Bros brings the DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains to Spotify as an exclusive podcast series
Take it from your favorite superheroes (or even super villains): the league does the job. So in the spirit of Batman and Robin, the JLA or the Birds of Prey, Spotify, a provider of music streaming and media services, is entering into a new multi-year partnership Warner Bros.. and DC to produce and distribute an original list of podcasts with narrative scripts exclusively on Spotify.
The partnership – the first to incorporate the intellectual property of the entire DC universe – will use iconic characters in new Spotify shows. In addition, companies are expected to use Warner Bros. Studio's wider collection of timeless titles as a standalone podcast series. This collaborative and innovative effort will further expand the diverse offering of premium storytelling content for Spotify listeners around the world.
Warner Bros. Digital Networks (WBDN) will manage the business and strategy related to the partnership. Warner Bros. Television Group's digital studio, Blue Ribbon Content (BRC), will oversee the creative relationship and will develop and produce the program in collaboration with Spotify, which will be solely responsible for the marketing, advertising, and distribution of the shows its platform.
In addition to creating narratives based on existing characters and franchises from Warner Bros. and DC, the two companies will also work with Spotify to create new programs from the original intellectual property – but more on these in a future edition Crossover events.
