7-Eleven Donates 1 Million Masks to FEMA amid pandemic

7-Eleven, Inc. donated 1 million masks to them Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help the medical community that is tirelessly fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
"7-Eleven is a brand that cares deeply about the people and communities in which we operate, particularly the first responders and the medical community who risk their lives for us every day," said 7-Eleven President and Chief Executive Officer Joe DePinto. "When we heard that the lack of masks in hospitals was becoming a serious problem, we felt it was our responsibility to respond and help."
Hospitals face a critical shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes masks and gloves. The shortage has resulted in hospitals reusing masks and American volunteers sewing masks at home to donate to local hospitals.
7-Eleven has provided masks to all stores and franchisees that can be used by franchisees and their employees when serving customers in their stores, and donated all remaining inventory to FEMA.
The brand also takes steps inside and outside of stores to offer customers what they need in a safe and clean environment. The stores will soon have sneeze guards on the register, and 7-Eleven has improved its standards and procedures for hygiene, hand washing, hygiene, food handling and the frequency of cleaning surfaces with a high degree of contact.
A leadership team at the company's Store Support Center strives to keep the CDC and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines up to date so that business processes and guidelines are optimally adapted as required.
