Real looking Shallow Depth of Subject Impact Utilizing Depth Maps
In today's Photoshop video tutorial, I'm going to show you a useful technique that you can use to give your photos a realistic depth of field effect. We use a depth map to indicate which areas need to be blurred and how much. This method gives you complete control over the effect. This makes it ideal for all types of photos, regardless of the perspective or complexity of the background. By defining the image areas in grayscale, you can blur certain areas more than others.
