World accountancy alliance appoints EY enterprise chief

GLOBAL Association of Independent Law and Audit Firms MSI Global Alliance has appointed a senior EY person in Scotland as its new CEO.

Andrew Leck was Associate Partner and Head of Business Development for Scotland, responsible for EY’s growth and go-to-market strategy, which prior to the move supported a mixed portfolio of clients from a range of sectors.

Prior to EY, Mr. Leck spent over 20 years in the accounting profession in a variety of roles including training, consulting and leading market growth programs around the world.

He was Head of ACCA Scotland before heading ACCA UK and is a member of both the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Mr. Leck was appointed by the MSI Board of Directors following a rigorous selection process, replacing Tim Wilson, who is leaving MSI after seven years as CEO, the company said

George Crowther, MSI Board Director, said, “Andrew has a track record of successful business development, innovation and strategic leadership. His international business experience and detailed knowledge of the professional service sector, combined with strong leadership and communication skills, make him an ideal partner for the MSI Global Alliance and we are pleased to welcome him as our new CEO. ”

Mr. Leck said he looks forward to joining “a thriving and successful association that is focused on creating value for its member firms and their customers”.

He said, “I look forward to working with MSI members around the world to strengthen partnerships and explore new opportunities for growth and development.”

Peter Abels, Director of the MSI Board of Directors, who has closely followed both the leadership change process and MSI since its inception, welcomed Mr. Leck and said, “Andrew and the MSI Board have had a great relationship from the start.”
