Webinar: Planning for a successful business sale

Christiane Hutchinson

Christiane is the founder and CEO of Biramis Management Partners, an award-winning specialist consulting firm for Exit Value Creation. She has over 25 years of strategic business consulting experience and a global career in France, Japan, the UK and Ireland.

She lives in Manchester and leads a value creation team.

Turlough O’Sullivan (panel chair)

Turlough is the company’s chairman and director, mediator, and independent corporate organization and strategy advisor. He was General Manager of IBEC, the Irish employers’ association, for nine years. During this time he also served on the Board of Business Europe, the National Economic and Social Council, the Industrial Relations Commission and the National Executive Board. Today he is the chairman of Resolve Ireland and Biramis Ireland, based in Dublin.

Neil Keenan

Neil is Partner and Head of Corporate at ByrneWallace LLP, a full service law firm based in Dublin. Neil has advised on M&A and other corporate transactions for over 25 years and currently serves as Chairman of the Law Society of Ireland’s Commercial Law Committee.

Valerie Moran

Valerie is the richest black woman in Britain, according to the Sunday Times’ Rich List. In over thirty years after the list was published, she’s the only black woman ever named.

In 2020, Valerie left Prepaid Financial Services – the company she founded with her husband Noel Moran to make it one of the world’s leading fintech providers. Valerie is currently Head of Client Services & Operations at eCOMM Merchant Solutions, a company she and her husband founded in 2014. She is also Head of the Financial Times FT 100 BAME in the UK and an official member of the Forbes Business Development Council at Forbes.com.

Stirling Austin

Stirling has founded, managed, sold, acquired and merged a number of manufacturing and distribution companies across Europe, including the creation of four companies and two businesses from scratch.

He founded NIM Europe Management, an interim management company, and left when the company was sold directly to an acquirer interested in buying a “stepping stone” business that could move to the next stage while he was doing it all of the challenges associated with building skipped the brand, goodwill and processes. Today he heads Pixel Executive, a multilingual website agency based in Manchester.

Michelle Walshe

Michelle is a recognized executive in the food industry. Michelle joined the family business (M&M Walshe Group) in 2011 and took over the management of Ribworld. She led the company through considerable growth with rapid expansion to become the largest Sous-Vide specialist in Europe.

Last year Michelle led the sale of the M&M Walshe Group (Callan Bacon, Ribworld and Strichley Bacon (UK)) to the Eight Fifty Food Group, which allowed all family members a successful exit and allowed her to start her next business, Walshe, To start up Management Consultants – provides the SME sector with professional and practical advice on developing strategies, securing funding and diversifying into new markets. Michelle also contributes to the wider food industry, with a seat on the board of directors of Bord Bia PCF and leading the Task Force on Food Diversity and Inclusion.

Ronan Byrne

Ronan is a very experienced CEO and Commercial Director of several companies over the past two decades. He specializes in start-up, proactive growth and development to the point of exit.

Over the years he has built and sold three companies to large multinational corporations including Beverly Records Management (storage / logistics) to Iron Mountain (NYSE: IRM), Engage Technologies (software) to Northgate Plc (FTSE 250), and most recently ClearSight Innovations (Ophthalmic Diagnostic Technologies) for a world market leader. For the past decade, his focus has been on commercializing innovative medical technologies. Ronan serves as an evaluator and panelist for organizations such as Enterprise Ireland and works with a number of life science companies spanning digital health, devices, pharmaceuticals and drug delivery. Ronan also holds a BA from UCD as well as an MBA from UCD Smurfit Business School.
