Hydrock, an energy, engineering and sustainability consultancy, has moved its Yorkshire office from Wetherby to Leeds to further expand its presence in the region.

The company has acquired approximately 3,100 m² on a ten-year lease in Riverside West on Whitehall Road in the city center.

The offices on the first floor overlooking the River Aire were previously occupied by RBA Associates who have now moved to larger offices on the fourth floor.

This enabled landlord Bradbury Executive Trust to undertake a major overhaul of the office with new air conditioning, new ceiling tiles, LED lighting, modern toilets and a complete renovation.

Fox Lloyd Jones brokered the deal and provided Hydrock with a full moving service.

John McElwee, Executive Director of Hydrock, said: “This is an exciting move as we continue to consolidate our offering geographically in high performing cities across the UK.

“With this move, we can network even more closely with the real estate market in the region, which we will continue to support with integrated engineering and, in particular, offer our customers solutions that help them anchor sustainability and the energy transition in their real estate portfolios.

“There is tremendous development in the county, especially around Leeds, so it made a lot of sense to move to the city to be closer to our customers and to be on the ‘thick of it’.

“The modern offices in Riverside West are perfect because they not only offer a great working environment, but also offer plenty of space to accommodate and expand our team of currently 20 people.”

Richard Boothroyd of Bradbury Executive Trust said, “It’s great to have such a prestigious company join Riverside West.

“Hydrock has been involved in high profile projects across the country and we are proud to have them as tenants.

“We are of course pleased that the company has recognized that our strategic location in Leeds city center will help raise its profile with developers even further.”

Harry Finney, Chief Surveyor at Fox Lloyd Jones added, “Riverside West has done the job given us at Hydrock perfectly, offering exceptional open plan accommodations that are fully self-contained with a unique opportunity to have your own front doors.

“The office remains an integral part of the Hydrock business and we hope that this significant upgrade in office space will help them continually improve and prosper.”
