Tim Burt turns into CEO at engineering design consultancy because it opens new workplace

Independent Design House (IDH), the UK and Poland-based construction design consultancy, consolidates a successful 2020 with the appointment of Ian Fernandes-Johnson as Managing Director, as Tim Burt takes a new position as CEO of the company.

The company, which now has over 30 employees, has also welcomed a new engineering manager as it seeks further expansion in the southwest.

IDH has just opened its first Bristol office, led by Fernandes-Johnson. This will be a new addition to the UK business currently based in Maidstone and working closely with its Krakow hub now known as Independent Design House Sp. Z oo. Z oo

The new managing director, Fernandes-Johnson, will be the leader in Great Britain.

Fernandes-Johnson comments: “Building on my experience in several large construction companies, it was the right time for me to take on a managerial role. I am particularly looking forward to joining such a great team, opening a new office in Bristol and developing our offering to the industry in this part of the country and expanding our work in London and the South East. I look forward to working with existing customers and offering our services more widely. “

In the meantime, as CEO, Burt will oversee the entire business.

He comments: “2020 has laid the foundation for a brilliant new year and we are very excited to have Ian on board as MD as I grow my role. We will focus on developing our UK team to focus on delivering and managing designs. Our core team of highly technical engineers does the design and analysis from our base in Poland. “
