Three Appointments at Law Firm Blake Morgan’s Construction Consultancy Arm

Blake Morgan law firm has made three appointments to its project and expense management advisory team after a period of new client acquisition and growth.

Colin Phillips has been named an associate member of the team believed to be the first of its kind to be launched by a UK law firm. He is joined by the new Senior Project Surveyor Mike Mahoney and the Graduate Surveyor Luke Piper.

Blake Morgan’s project and cost management consultancy team was formed in 2018 to help the company improve its presence in the construction sector by offering a holistic service that covers all phases of a development’s lifecycle.

Since launch, the team has had annual sales of over £ 600,000 and is aiming for further growth for the next year. In line with this growth, the size of the team has doubled.

In their new roles, Colin Phillips and Mike Mahoney will be responsible for providing advice on costs, procurement and risk management to ensure construction projects are completed on time and on budget. You will work with a growing customer base that includes residential and commercial developers, housing associations and local government agencies.

You will be assisted by the surveyor, Luke Piper, who provides technical support for a variety of tasks.

Both Colin Phillips and Mike Mahoney join Blake Morgan from global infrastructure specialist AECOM, while Luke Piper holds a degree in quantity measurement and trade management from the University of the West of England.

Colin Phillips brings over 20 years of experience in successfully executing projects in the construction industry and has many years of experience in successful project management in all project and cost management disciplines. Mike Mahoney has been in the construction industry since 1983 and became a founding member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1992. He has worked with clients such as British Airways, Holiday Inn and the Department of Defense.
