TEAM Energy starts consulting on CO2 reduction

August 31, 2021

TEAM Energy’s Net Zero and Carbon Reduction Consultancy services aim to help companies address the net zero challenge.

The UK aims to cut emissions by 68 percent by 2030 and 78 percent by 2035, with a goal of net zero emissions by 2050.

To support companies in mastering this challenge, TEAM Energy has developed a consulting service for net zero and CO2 reduction, which is intended to help them define, design and monitor a CO2 emissions strategy tailored to their operational needs and challenges .

“There is no getting around the growing demand to work towards net zero. While UK legislation is still new, we are seeing increasing pressure from the supply chain, financial institutions and consumers forcing businesses to act. Elsewhere there are organizations that are determined to lead by example, driven by the desire to do their part to tackle the climate crisis and invest everything to become climate neutral. “

Pressure to meet upcoming carbon targets

In response to growing pressures from the UK government, supply chain and consumers to meet these goals, many organizations are trying to create a strategic plan to reduce carbon and net zero. However, according to the edie-Net-Zero-Business-Barometer-Survey 2021, 45 percent of companies still have to set their net-zero targets.

Understanding the carbon emissions of an organization’s operations, including its supply chain, is one of the greatest challenges of a net zero strategy. Monitoring and measuring emissions in areas 1, 2 and 3 is complex and inevitably puts operational resources under pressure. In addition, not every organization has the knowledge and skills to manage a decarbonization strategy.

Companies with ambitious sustainability goals can choose TEAM consultants to set a science-based target that shows a way to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in line with the Paris Agreement.

Organizations planning a net zero strategy and putting sustainability at the forefront of their agenda will benefit from these services. TEAM’s consultants work in partnership to help decarbonise their operations and provide dedicated advice and guidance that will enable companies to achieve their sustainability transformation goals.

Timothy Holman, Head of Operations on the TEAM induction team, commented:

“There is no getting around the growing demand to work towards net zero. While UK legislation is still new, we are seeing increasing pressure from the supply chain, financial institutions and consumers forcing businesses to act. Elsewhere, there are organizations that are determined to lead by example, driven by the desire to do their part to tackle the climate crisis and invest everything to become climate neutral.

“Whatever the motivations, there is no escaping the complexity and scale of what it takes to go net zero, which can be overwhelming, but that’s where our consultants can help.

“With COP26 coming this year and government ambitions accelerating, we expect that new regulations could come into force that force businesses to act more efficiently, for example by raising building performance standards; possibly with penalties for non-compliance.

“My advice to anyone considering a carbon reduction plan for their organization is not to wait, not to be left behind because you are not sure where to start, talk to us because we are here are to help. “

Recognizing that there is no uniform approach to CO2 neutrality, TEAM has designed its range in such a way that it includes flexible purchase options. The solution mix can be delivered together, individually or as a subscription.

The company’s net zero and carbon reduction advice is provided by the company’s energy services arm and may be provided in conjunction with TEAM’s complementary advisory services, including energy behavior change programs, energy audits and surveys, and the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).
