TCS starts business with Amazon Web Services;  Stock edges lower

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has set up a new TCS AWS Business Unit (BU) to further deepen the long-standing relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is a dedicated group within TCS that brings together the scale, technology expertise, and industry knowledge of the two companies to help enterprise customers accelerate their innovation and achieve superior business results with AWS, TCS said in a regulatory filing on the stock exchanges after the IPO hours on Wednesday.

TCS ‘AWS business unit is a multidisciplinary full-stack group that offers enterprise customers end-to-end services and solutions for everything to do with cloud migration, application and data modernization.

The introduction of this new entity is another investment by TCS and builds on the extensive expertise and execution experience of its large pool of AWS-certified professionals to create more value for mutual customers, TCS said.

A day ago, Tata Consultancy Services announced plans to hire 1,500 technology workers across the UK over the next year to continue investing in the UK economy.

At 10:45 am, TCS shares were trading at Rs 3,204.80 on the BSE, a decrease of 0.19 percent versus an increase of 0.3 percent on the BSE Sensex.
