South Wales Tax Consultancy Launches Cryptocurrency Division

Tax consultancy Finch & Associates has opened a new office in Cardiff to serve the city’s growing technology sector as part of the firm’s ambitious growth plans.

The new office on Pendyris Street in Cardiff will enable the Clevedon-based company to offer specialized research and development tax breaks to businesses across South Wales, the South West and nationally.

Finch & Associates also launched a new cryptocurrency tax department to provide expert advice to the growing number of people investing in virtual currencies.

Shaun Bartle, Associate Director at Finch & Associates, which also specializes in taxation in the US and UK, said:

“Cardiff has become a leading technology hub and our presence in the city means we can help innovative companies across South Wales secure the R&D tax breaks they need to research and grow.”

He added:

“We also see companies that we advise on integrating blockchain technology into their supply chains and creating their own cryptocurrency for certain projects. Digital currencies such as Bitcoin are also becoming increasingly popular as part of an investment portfolio for private individuals.

“But many investors are not aware of the tax implications of such investments, which is why we have launched a new tax advisory service for cryptocurrencies. People often think they are exempt from reporting their income, but if you’ve made a profit from cryptocurrency investments, you may need to notify HMRC.

“Our team of specialists can advise you on the tax implications of cryptocurrency transactions and help ensure compliance in a tax-efficient manner.”

Finch & Associates is a member of CryptoUK, the UK self-regulatory association that represents the crypto asset sector.
