Software program consultancy Scott Logic opens fifth UK workplace in Leeds

Nigel Wilson, General Manager - Scott Logic

Software consultancy Scott Logic has announced the opening of its sixth and fifth offices in the UK. The new office in Leeds on East Parade will initially employ 12 people.

Scott Logic is based in Newcastle and has hubs in London, Bristol, Edinburgh and Copenhagen. The company employs more than 300 people. As a software consultancy, the company provides a wide range of technology services, including architecture and technical strategy, bespoke software development, and data development, to help clients address a range of complex business challenges. Scott Logic works primarily with financial services, investment banking and public sector organizations – such as DWP, NHS Digital, and NatWest – all of which rely heavily on digital solutions for a future recovery from the current crisis.

The company has had a busy start into 2021. The company is committed to expanding its workforce and geographic reach in the first quarter of the year. Following the appointment of a new CEO in the form of Stephen Foreshew-Cain, the company has now announced that it will open a fifth office for its UK presence. A new locale is to be added for Leeds to meet the growing demand in Yorkshire.

“We already have clients in Leeds and we know this is a great place to do business, with a strong technical ecosystem, including initiatives like the Leeds Digital Festival,” said Nigel Wilson, general manager of Scott Logic. “Given the world class universities, excellent transportation, and strength of financial services, this was an obvious choice for our next location. It is rich in potential for customers and talent, and it is a city where we want to put solid roots. “

New CEO Foreshew-Cain has ambitious plans for Scott Logic, one of which is the new office start being an early factor. It is reportedly designed to build on sustainable growth while cultivating deeper relationships with communities and making an impact beyond the company’s core activities. The new office in Leeds marks the first phase of the company’s expansion in 2021, and Yorkshire-based Wilson is keen that the location is an example of future advice.

Wilson added: “I’m from Yorkshire and I’m personally delighted to have the company present in such a great city. Most of all, we want to be recognized as a major place to work in Leeds, using technology to help our customers achieve their business goals and connect with the wider communities in the city. “

While Scott Logic admits that opening a physical office in the midst of a pandemic lockdown may seem “unusual,” a release by the company noted the anticipation of an imminent future of hybrid and agile ways of working – something the new office is well equipped for. Wilson said that a mix of remote working and face-to-face collaboration “has always been the way we have delivered results for our customers, and this is not going to change,” but also concluded that “Covid-19 is proving to be Great Accelerator Proves Technological change and technology is the way to achieve much of this change. “
