Small Enterprise Growth Heart has new director

Juliana Bolivar has been named director of the Small Business Development Center at Troy University.

She joins the TROY team with a background in small business development, operations, branding and marketing.

“Juliana brings the energy and experience to the SBDC that will enable Troy University to better serve small businesses in our region,” said Walter Givhan, senior vice chancellor for progress and economic development. “Their skills and background in understanding and helping businesses that need support, whether it be launching, expanding, operating or funding, will be of great benefit to the entire region.”

Most recently, Bolivar was a small business consultant at Community Action Development Corporation in Bethlehem, PA. She also started a MotoGP sports bar and grill, and managed finance, marketing, and operations. Bolivar has been running its own small business consultancy since 2016 and has worked in the fields of mechanical engineering, cleaning and finance.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in international business management from Moravian College and a certificate in business plan development and data management from Medellin University.

She is a board member and chairperson of the development committee of Turning Point of Lehigh Valley, a nonprofit that aims to prevent domestic violence.

“I look forward to meeting the entrepreneurs and companies in our region and helping them achieve their growth goals,” she said.
