Property briefs: New consultancy launched and extra care home completed

Ousebank Consultancy, a professional development, real estate and construction consultancy, was founded by the experienced industry professional Sam Colley.

The company is headquartered in York and has an office in Mayfair, London.

Ousebank is regulated by the RICS and has extensive experience in the north of England, particularly along the M62 corridor, in the capital and across the country.

Partners include developers, individuals and partnerships, property managers, property owners and users, landowners and architects.

Services include development consulting, development management, project management, cost management, contract management and employer representatives.

Colley said: “After more than a decade of working on some extraordinary developments and a mix of talented consultants, designers and clients, I am excited to announce the establishment of Ousebank Consultancy.

“Achieving the ambitions of our customer partners and creating added value from real estate – architecturally, sustainably and economically – are the focus of our actions.

“We cover all real estate sectors and have a first-class track record in successfully providing residential, industrial, commercial, student accommodation and mixed regeneration for partners.

“These range from new developers to the market to internationally renowned real estate planners, whereby the desired results of the customer partners are always in the foreground.

“As the UK economy begins to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and real estate continues to be a preferred sector of investment, customers need services they can trust from people they know will perform.”

He added the consultancy has ambitious growth plans, including providing career opportunities to younger people from across Yorkshire.

A new Extra Care development for people over 55 in Cookridge, Leeds is now complete.

Housing 21’s Lady Ida Lodge, which is part of a Grade II listed building originally built in 1889, will provide housing and care for the elderly on site.

A partnership between Housing 21, Leeds City Council and Esh Construction has allowed work to continue safely over the past few weeks.

The Homes England supported development will offer 64 one and two bedroom apartments for social rent and shared ownership.

There is a communal lounge and three different communal gardens, including a wooded area, a central courtyard and a south-facing terrace for residents and their visitors.

Residents will also benefit from a number of on-site facilities, including a cafe / bistro offering take-away service and a hair salon.

Deborah Hope, Development Manager at Housing 21, said: “We are delighted to have completed our second new build for additional care in Leeds.

“The successful implementation of this beautiful but challenging project was the result of a positive partnership between Housing 21, Leeds City Council and Homes England. We look forward to providing higher quality, affordable homes to older people in Leeds with modest means.”

Claire Charlton, Head of Extra Care (North) at Housing 21, said, “There is no doubt that this program is needed in Cookridge. The apartments are selling well and there are still a few apartments available for rent.

“We are very pleased that the residents will be moving in shortly and look forward to welcoming them to their new home.”

Stuart Leslie, Head of Department at Esh Construction added, “This development not only creates fantastic new additional care accommodation for Cookridge, but has also revived the legacy of the former Cookridge Hospital Ida Wing, which closed in 2005.

“An extensive renovation program, the construction of a three-story extension and a one-story connecting building, has brought a historic building into the modern age of the 21st century.

“Lady Ida Lodge is a project that we are very proud of.”
