Successful year for construction consultancy

Andy Williams

A construction consultancy exceeded sales targets and increased profitability despite the challenges of Covid-19, Brexit and the recession.

Powell Williams, with offices in London, Birmingham, Chester and Leeds, said this was the result of a “successful culmination” of a five-year growth plan.

This has resulted in new customers being added to the business, additional services being offered and being recruited in all branches, resulting in an increase in the number of employees.

Powell Williams was founded in 1990 and provides expert advice to investors, owners and users in the commercial real estate sector.

Customers include Abrdn, Aviva Investors, BP Pension Fund, Cube Real Estate, Places for People, Siemens, Travis Perkins, USS and XPO Logistics.

Andy Williams, the practice’s founding partner, who is retiring after 31 years, said he believes the plan provides “a solid foundation to build on.

Williams said: “The team has surpassed every goal the partners set for this year, despite all the difficulties caused by the effects of the pandemic and Brexit.

“Over the past year we have welcomed a significant number of new business from funds, developers, rental companies and users, with 12 percent of our customer base being new customers. We have also added three talented new members to the team over the past few months.” with Tom Little, another very experienced construction surveyor, coming from Trident this week. “

He added, “I am absolutely confident that the partners will take the business even further.”
