International technology consultancy Saggezza has appointed a new program director in its UK wing. Former EY Director Peter Hughes is from Scott Logic.

With nearly 500 technology and business consultants and offices on three continents, Saggezza is a professional service company that helps clients harness the power of corporate data, discover new opportunities and renew their corporate cultures. In addition to its headquarters in Chicago, the company also has locations in the UK and India.

In early 2021, the company was acquired by Silicon Valley tech giant Infostretch, signaling a bright new future for Saggezza. The acquisition will significantly increase Saggezza’s recruiting efforts over the next 12 months and create numerous jobs at its operations in Sunderland, Edinburgh, London and Birmingham.

Saggezza has already used that support to double over the past year despite the pandemic, and its UK business has played a key role in generating new business and providing solutions to some of the world’s biggest brands. Building on this dynamic, Peter Hughes has joined Saggezza’s Sunderland wing.

Rob Gwyther, Director of Delivery at Saggezza UK, said: “We are very excited to welcome Peter to the team and we are confident that his extensive knowledge and experience will help take Saggezza to the next level. Looking ahead, our goal is to build on this success and attracting top talent from across the UK – like Peter – will be critical to achieving our goals. “

Hughes has worked in a variety of sectors throughout his career. Most recently he was Client Principal in the Enterprise Wing of Scott Logic in Newcastle, but also spent three years as Director in the Audit Wing of EY as well as Cisco and BP in various countries. In doing so, he accepted the challenge of not only applying technology to business problems, but also to revolutionize technology and apply it to new business opportunities.

Born and raised in the Northeast before traveling the world during his career, he joins Saggezza in a hybrid capacity, splitting his time between his home office and the company’s Sunderland office. Speaking of his new role, he found it was “too good an opportunity to refuse”.

Hughes continued, “In retrospect, I have always tended to work with more complicated projects or projects that require recovery or intervention, and with Saggezza, I have the ability to do just that with customers around the world, from e-commerce – and banking giants and that fast. ”- growing startups while you are here in the northeast. I can’t wait to get started. “
