A new real estate consultancy has started operations in Birmingham city center.

Atlas Land & Planning is based in Cornwall Street and specializes in property procurement and development opportunities, working with landowners, investors, builders and developers in the metropolitan area.

It is led by General Manager Phil Roberts, who has a decade of experience in the industry, including Fine and Country Land and New Homes.

Roberts said: “The pandemic has posed many challenges to the development landscape, including staff on leave causing delays in development or the progress of planning requests, and a shortage of building materials leading to price increases and impacts on profit margins, including from Brexit tightened.

“At the same time, the opportunities for development are increasing as the restrictions ease now as land becomes available again.

The Greater Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards are back for 2021 and can now be submitted here.

The event takes place on Thursday November 11th at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham and celebrates apprentices, employers and training providers across 12 categories, including our All Apprentice of the Year.

“Land that was earmarked for office development is now likely to be rededicated for residential use, while real estate such as abandoned office space will also be ripe for redevelopment due to the remote work scenario.

“In addition, the plans for HS2 make living in the city much more attractive. Of course, there is also a real housing shortage and we work closely with providers of affordable housing.

“All of this is great news for developers and we believe that appetites are growing fast and the market is picking up again.”
