Mendip Enterprise Hub launches at Wells City Corridor

Somerset County Gazette: OPEN NOW: Mendip Business Hub Launch Event

A NEW business hub with advice and support was launched in Mendip last week.

Companies from the district attended the opening of the Mendip Business Hub at Wells City Hall on Thursday, October 21.

The Hub is a new online counseling service that works with companies in the district to provide advice, guidance, and support.

It offers information, networking opportunities, advice and events.

Cllr Simon Carswell, Portfolio Owner, Economic Development, said, “I was thrilled to see so many companies taking the time to attend the launch event.

“It was the perfect opportunity to listen to and interact with organizations while promoting the new council service.

“We look forward to successful working relationships with the Mendip organizations that are developing into the future.”

Guest speakers at the kick-off event included representatives from Glastonbury Spring Water, Strode College and the Heart of the South West (HOTSW).

Guest speaker David Tucker of Glastonbury Spring Water said, “I look forward to supporting the business center – it’s a great initiative.

“It helps to have one central location where companies can access the support of the Mendip District Council.

“Collaboration and collaboration is so important and the Business Hub makes it easy, which is really promising for companies like mine.”

Nash Marketing’s Beverley Nash said she “thoroughly enjoyed” the launch.

“It was well organized and perfectly explained how the hub will benefit all local businesses,” she added.

“Having a single point of contact for help, advice, training and support will fill a gap for many companies.

“And as entrepreneurs, we can all learn faster, more intelligently and more confidently if we have the support and open ear of a friendly and committed business world.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting other companies at the next event.”

Mendip Business Hub will soon also offer a selection of eLearning packages, where companies can purchase a training package online and conduct the training remotely at any time.
