Macdonald boosts Summers-Inman Scottish operation – Daily Business

Return: Angus Macdonald.

Construction and real estate consultant Summers-Inman has added the welcome to their operations in Scotland Angus Macdonald as deputy director for the management of cost advice.

Mr Macdonald’s arrival at the company’s new Scottish headquarters in Edinburgh marks the return to the company who previously worked for the company for four years from 2014 to 2018.

Mr. Macdonald has worked in construction consultancy in Scotland for 27 years and is familiar with many aspects of supply consulting and the supply chains of contractors north of the border.

“It’s an exciting time to be returning to Summers-Inman,” he said. “Despite the challenges the country is facing, the company is very positive right now.

“It suits me well and it feels good to be back. I know a lot of people and how the business works and it was a familiar, friendly environment to come back to.

“There are many plans to take the company forward in Scotland and I look forward to being part of them. We are in a good position with the customer base we have and the point is to consolidate and use that base to move things forward with hopefully better times. “

Mr. Macdonald, born in Stornoway, is returning to the company after three years with the consulting firm Arcadis.

He has a background in core cost consulting, employer representative, and development oversight, including complex procurement processes. With his experience in the areas of housing, student accommodation and university, he also has a wide range of experience in the renovation of residential and business environments.

He will primarily focus on and manage Summers-Inman’s established expense advisory services in Scotland. This includes managing services under the Wheatley Group’s technical advisory framework, the Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association’s professional services framework, the Kingdom Housing Association’s advisory framework for advisory services, and the Royal Bank of Scotland’s surveyor’s supplier body, including other public ones and private sector clients.

Mr. Macdonald is a Senior Professional Competency Assessment (APC) assessor for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and will oversee the training of all employees advancing to Chartered status, including apprentices and student internships.

Regional General Manager Aynsley Cheatley said, “Angus is recognized as a premier volume assessor in the local industry and there is no one better placed to lead our teams, service frameworks and other long-term customers.”
