Lexus launches Lexus AR Play to nearly unveil the brand new 2021 IS

Lexus launches Lexus AR Play to virtually launch the new 2021 IS

With the Lexus AR Play app, users can view an interactive preview of the vehicle

To virtually unveil the new 2021 IS luxury car brand, Lexus launched Lexus AR Play, a comprehensive augmented reality app that allows users to explore the vehicle using their smartphone or tablet – the first of its kind for Lexus.

Lexus was inspired to develop the technology to showcase the latest design and performance features of this luxury sports sedan, which has been a favorite in the category since the model's debut almost 20 years ago.

With the Lexus AR Play app, users can view an interactive preview of the vehicle. This allows users to virtually walk around the vehicle to get a close-up 360-degree exterior and interior view, and activate the gamification function to virtually control the IS in augmented reality like a remote-controlled car, personalize the vehicle exterior with eight custom color schemes for the 2021 IS and open and close the doors and trunk.

Not only explore the vehicle's design, performance, and safety features with high quality audio commentary, but also view 3D snippets of key technical features, the engine, and the chassis, and take photos that you share with friends or on your favorite Share social media channels.

"This app is a modern expression of a longstanding Lexus core value: & # 39; genchi genbutsu & # 39; or & # 39; go & see & # 39; – a practice that Lexus engineers use to gain a real understanding of a situation on the ground by experiencing it first hand, "said Lisa Materazzo, Vice President Marketing at Lexus.

"Now our guests can experience the next best Genchi Genbutsu with the new IS 350 by seeing it in a way that was previously unavailable and long before the vehicles arrive in the showrooms in late autumn."

The Lexus AR Play app can now be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices. More information about the 2021 IS can be found here.
