LEGO Group and Nintendo are building a LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System

The Lego Nintendo Entertainment System is mechanically functional

The LEGO group has announced a LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) adult kit that allows adult fans to create their own NES console using LEGO bricks.

The new kit, the latest LEGO and Nintendo Partnership offers a brick-built NES model with realistic details, including its 1980s-style LEGO TV, so nostalgic gamers and LEGO fans can recreate their favorite Super Mario Bros. childhood experiences.

With this announcement, adult fans can take a trip back in time by building a mechanically functioning version of an ever-popular console using LEGO bricks. The new NES Building Kit contains a controller with connection cable and plug as well as an opening slot for the Game Pak with locking function.

The console also has a buildable retro TV with a flat 8-bit Mario character on the scroll screen. With LEGO Mario, fans can scan an included action brick from the LEGO Super Mario starter course so that it reacts to enemies, obstacles and power-ups on the screen in the same way as in the legendary Super Mario Bros. game.

"Super Mario has been a valued figure in the gaming world for over thirty years," said Maarten Simons, creative lead at LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System, the LEGO Group.

“Many adults still fondly remember seeing Mario jumping across the small screen for the first time, even if the graphics were much simpler than they are today. With the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System, we really let them indulge in this nostalgia and recreate one of the most popular consoles of all time so that they can see the Super Mario from their childhood again – and even share the experience of playing with them in the 1980s own children. "

The LEGO Group and Nintendo announced their partnership earlier this year and brought an entertaining LEGO Super Mario universe to life with a Super Mario Starter Course set that contains only one LEGO Mario figure that has a variety of instant responses to movement , Color and color shows different action stones.

This entry-point set was followed by a series of power-up packages in May and the announcement of a number of expansion sets and collectable character packages in June. All of them are designed to expand the world of LEGO Super Mario and give players the opportunity to develop their creativity by developing the levels and challenges at which LEGO Mario and his friends want to compete.

This highly collectable NES building kit is part of a series of inspiring LEGO models developed for demanding hobbyists who are looking for their next challenge. The LEGO NES will be available exclusively in the LEGO retail stores and on their website from August 1, 2020. From 2021 it will also be available from other leading retailers around the world.
