In support of its commitment to sustainable practices, The Kraft Heinz The company has published its second ESG (Environmental Social Governance) report. The Kraft Heinz ESG Strategy prioritizes the topics that are most important to the business and the company's stakeholders – and focuses on the areas where it can have the greatest impact. It comprises three important pillars:

Environmental Stewardship – Reducing the company's ecological footprint through water conservation, energy consumption and waste reduction in its production facilities, as well as through sustainable packaging.

Responsible Sourcing – promoting sustainable sourcing practices, including focus areas such as human rights, sustainable agriculture, deforestation and animal welfare.

Healthy Living and Community Support – Identifying and meeting the nutritional goals for Kraft Heinz products with an emphasis on sugar, sodium, saturated fat and calorie limits and alternative options and the philanthropic mission to combat global hunger.

In the report, Kraft Heinz also introduces new, global goals into its pillars of Environmental Stewardship and Responsible Sourcing. The company plans to sustainably source 100 percent of Heinz ketchup tomatoes globally by 2025, according to the company's sustainable agriculture practices.

Kraft Heinz has taken significant steps to strengthen its supply chain by developing these practices and working with growers to implement them with measured improvement. In Spain, for example, tomato growers have implemented new soil health practices that ultimately lead to an improvement in the 70 tonnes of tomatoes per acre per year.

As the company evaluates the greenhouse gas emissions of its entire supply chain in order to set reduction targets, it has also set itself the goal of purchasing a large part of the renewable electricity in all Kraft-Heinz plants by 2025.

Further highlights of the report are the targeted achievement of the following goals by the company by 2025:

Expanding global nutritional guidelines to improve the health and well-being of its products to target 85% global compliance (the company exceeded its 70% compliance target four years ahead of schedule by 2023).
