Kenzo announces partnership with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)

Working closely with governments, communities and conservation partners, Kenzo's initiative aims to double the number of tigers in the wild by 2022, the next Chinese year of the tiger

Kenzo works with that Worldwide Nature Fund (WWF) Supporting “Tx2”, a worldwide commitment to protect the world's wild tigers and to double their number by the end of 2022.

As part of the partnership, Kenzo has launched a capsule collection exclusively dedicated to the big cats, who serve as the brand's mascots. For every item sold, Kenzo donates $ 10 to WWF to help meet the Tx2 goal. With this latest initiative, Kenzo remains true to its longstanding philosophy of celebrating and helping to protect the natural environment.

Wild tigers perfectly embody the basic principles of the Kenzo brand – energy, strength, nature as the central source of inspiration and the dynamic “Jungle Jap” spirit. Unfortunately, these beautiful big cats are critically endangered.

Of a population of around 100,000 a century ago, only 3,200 wild tigers were recorded in 2010. Efforts since then have produced promising results, increasing the number of tigers living in the wild to an estimated 3,900 in 2016.

Tigers are unique animals that play a central role in the health of their natural ecosystems. Clearly, protecting her is imperative for Kenzo. That's why the Maison has partnered with WWF to support its Tx2 initiative.

By working closely with governments, communities and nature conservation partners, the number of wild tigers is to be doubled by 2022, the next Chinese year of the tiger.

As part of his partnership with WWF, Kenzo has launched a tiger-themed capsule collection. All items in the collection – T-shirts, sweatshirts, dresses and more – are made from 100% organic cotton that is certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). For every item sold, Kenzo will donate $ 10 / £ 7.85 to WWF's Tx2 program. The collection will be available from September 23rd.

This partnership to protect the tigers is part of a broader alliance between Kenzo and the WWF that aims to improve the sustainability of the brand's cotton supply chain and minimize its impact on freshwater ecosystems.
