Recruitment consultancy Talk Staff cut the ribbon in their new Nottingham office on King Street – two years after it closed after the company’s landlord sold its former premises in the city.

The company said the flexible workspace in Cubo Nottingham is a response to increasing demand from both a growing customer base in the city and the emerging workforce at Talk Staff in Nottingham.

Gary Parsons, Managing Director of Talk Staff, said: “Talk Staff has always been a Nottingham and Derbyshire based company since our inception in 2009. In fact, our first customer was a Nottingham company. After opening our first office in Nottingham in 2017, we were informed in the second half of 2019 that our client had sold the premises and that we had to look for something new.

“We have given our employees the flexibility to work either from our Belper office or from home to suit their individual preferences. This was only meant as a temporary measure while we found the right place, then the COVID-19 pandemic struck, making it far more sustainable than it had ever planned. “

Like many companies, Talk Staff wondered at this point whether an office was needed at all. However, the company said that after extensive deliberations across the company, it had decided to move forward with plans for a new location in Nottingham.

Parsons said, “From a talent perspective, culture is really important here at Talk Staff and our team has told us they need a place to call their home that we can back up with the technology they need to to work flexibly wherever it suits you best.

“From a commercial point of view, we are on the right track to double the size of Talk Staff and want to grow our business as quickly as possible. It is deliberate in Nottingham as it is important for us to involve locals with local knowledge of the specific needs of our customers in Nottingham. ”

Talk Staff worked with Invest in Nottingham to find a facility that was flexible enough for the Talk Staff team and strategic enough to grow with their needs.

James Mann, Invest in Nottingham Business Expansion Specialist, said: “It’s great that we have been able to help Talk Staff move back to downtown Nottingham and find a new place for the team at Cubo. Having a company that is so passionate about people and talent in the heart of the city is hugely beneficial to our ecosystem.

“Talk Staff has signed an agreement with Cubo to give their growing Nottingham team a place to call home. This is also supported by full access to Cubo’s growing network of other UK locations, which gives the Talk Staff team a place to work – whether it’s in Nottingham or meeting clients in other parts of the country. “
