How To Create a Retro Cereal Field Design with a Mascot Character
In today's video tutorial, I'm going to walk you through the process of creating a mascot character for a retro cereal box design using a mixture of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. We'll start drawing the character in Illustrator, using simplified shapes based on the old mid-century style of cartoons and mascots with simple hand-drawn strokes and limited colors. Then we switch to Photoshop to create the retro cereal box design. There I will show you some useful tricks for creating incorrectly registered print effects and paper structures that give the artwork an outdated look.
