Research from Ezra, the leading provider of digital coaching, shows which UK industries have proven to be the most pandemic-proof in terms of total profit, and which industries, based on the number of current ones. want to expand the fastest job vacancies are advertised.

The pandemic has hit UK industry hard, but while many sectors have seen a radical decline in profitability and growth, there are some that have managed to stay strong during the global crisis.

At the top of the list of the ten most profitable industries to beat the pandemic is banking, which will see a profit of $ 10.9 billion in 2021.

Thanks largely to its increasing reliance on remote working, the computer consulting industry has also remained strong in the face of the pandemic, with a $ 6.5 billion profit so far this year, the top five most profitable UK industries, both of which made a profit of £ 5.8 billion in 2021.

These are the UK industries that have made the greatest profits during the pandemic but looking to the future as the nation hopes to leave COVID-19 behind, Ezra’s research also shows which of the UK’s top ten industries are doing so most are pushing for a post-pandemic boom, which can be measured by analyzing the number of jobs currently advertised.

After a catastrophic pandemic, the hospitality industry has a lot of catching up to do and the data says it wants to do so very quickly. The UK full-service restaurant sector currently employs almost half a million people in 42,000 companies. Today the industry advertises more than 36,000 positions which, once filled, will increase the total workforce by 7.4%.

The management consulting industry also has plans for rapid growth. With currently half a million employees in more than 173,000 companies, the industry is currently advertising almost 31,000 jobs in order to increase its workforce by 6.9%.

The construction industry, which may be propped up by the urgent need for new housing across the UK, is also planning to increase its workforce by 6.9%, adding more than 39,000 to its current 573,000 employees.

Education providers have had a very difficult couple of years adapting to distance learning, but they still plan to expand their workforce in the future. Universities intend to hire 9,141 new staff to increase the total workforce by 2.1%, and secondary school hopes to increase staff by 2% by posting 13,912 positions.

The rest of the UK’s top ten industries plan to grow in the coming weeks and months, with Charities growing 1.8%, Hospitals 1%, Temporary Employment Agencies 0.9%, Supermarkets 0.6%, and Direct Selling & Marketing by 0.2%.

Ezra founder Nick Goldberg commented:

“After a turbulent 18 months, British industry is optimistic again, as the large number of jobs currently advertised shows.

“However, it is important to recognize that Brexit has reduced the workforce in many UK industries, not least the healthcare, hospitality and technology sectors to other European nations rather than adding to them.

“But with that in mind, too, we’re starting a great time for job seekers with many new opportunities that are now available. But when you consider how many people lost their jobs during the pandemic, there will be a lot of competition too.

“Good career coaching can teach you how to stand out from the crowd and then thrive in interview and beyond.
