Honeycomb cereal donates 600 bicycles to teenagers in foster care

Honeycomb grain donates 600 bicycles to young people in foster families

In recognition of the National Foster Care Month and the National Bike Month in May honeycomb Grain announced a $ 50,000 donation Together we rise, a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of foster youth.

The donation will provide 600 bicycles for tweens and teens in foster homes so that they can build confidence and experience the many physical and emotional benefits of a bike. The bikes are given to tweens and teens, an underserved population within the care system.

"We are delighted to be working with Together We Rise to give foster children the opportunity to bring back memories and experience the fun and joy of cycling," said Michelle Titus, Senior Brand Manager at Honeycomb Cereal. “Honeycomb has been an advocate of small but big moments for children throughout its history. Bikes are a gateway to growing up, and this donation will make the dream of owning a bike a reality for these children. "

“Together We Rise is very grateful and is happy to announce our partnership with Honeycomb Cereal. We attach great importance to offering children in foster families the special moments of their childhood that riding their own bikes offers. So, of course, it's a good opportunity to band together. Our partnership will create 600 special moments for deserving youth across the country. Thank you, Honeycomb, for helping youth care, ”said Gianna Mulkay, Executive Director at Together We Rise.

As part of the Honeycomb and Together We Rise partnership, a bicycle construction event is planned at Post Consumer Brands headquarters in Lakeville, Minnesota. The staff will assemble around 100 bicycles to give to local care authorities for distribution to tweens and teens in the local care system. The remaining 500 motorcycles are distributed nationwide through the Together We Rise network.
