Heinz launches Click on&Chips marketing campaign to help 100 chip store house owners

Heinz launches Click & Chips campaign to support 100 chip shop owners

Heinz works with the Click & Collect app developer Stampapp to create an individual app

Heinz, a food company and multiple winner of the World Branding Awardshas launched the new Click & Chips campaign, which aims to reopen and successfully trade the country's Fish & Chip stores.

Around 80 percent of British chippies had to close during the Covid 19 crisis. Now that the hospitality sector needs to be reopened, these small business owners need to find quick solutions for social distance and fewer pedestrians.

Heinz works in partnership with the Click-and-Collect app developers. Stampappto create a custom app for 100 Fish & Chip stores across the country – and cover a two-month subscription fee – all for free for the stores themselves. The apps use a click-and-collect service to reduce queues in the store and to offer businesses additional sources of income.

“Fish and chip shops have played an important role in national crises in the past. During the First World War, the War Cabinet recognized the importance of the dish and guaranteed delivery at low prices, and during the Second World War fish and chips were not rationed, ”said Claire Traynor, Food Service Manager for Northern Europe at Kraft Heinz.

“Now this very British institution is in a crisis. We want to repay the favor of past decades and work to bring moments of joy back to consumers across the country.

“Instead of running a coupon program that encourages consumers to pay in advance, we wanted to equip stores with the tools and expert guidance to turn their business around and do it again. We are very happy that this campaign is running and cannot wait for these small but powerful dealers to be reopened for business. "

Stampapp founder Tom Messett added: “We have already started to provide click-and-collect apps for a number of fish and chip stores across the country. You have had great success so that these companies can continue to act in these unprecedented times.

“Time is of the essence for companies right now and these apps can be up and running within 5 working days. The apps also offer unique features such as time slot orders that allow owners to ensure secure collections and maintain social distance.

“Many independent companies, especially outside of large cities, don't have access to (or budgets for) large deployment apps. In addition, they have neither time nor personnel to operate their own ordering system. Click & Chips offers you a free and simple solution! We will work with chip shop owners every step of the way to ensure a smooth process for operators and consumers. At the end of the two-month free subscription period, merchants can continue their monthly subscription at a special price or cancel without a fee or obligation. "

Click & Chips also provides each company with a box of Heinz sample sauces and marketing toolkits, including posters, social media assets, and checklists for the reopening of Covid-19, so they can open securely and promote their new app to customers.

Fish and chip shops have until midnight on Sunday, July 12, 2020, to register for the promise of support offered by Heinz on the Click & Chips website. Places will be allocated based on availability. So don't hesitate. Successful businesses will be notified by Friday, July 17, 2020, and will help every step of the way to bring back the country's most popular convenience food.
