Harris Lamb expands environmental consultancy department

Harris Lamb has added two more ecologists to its environmental advisory department.

Liam Murtagh and Abigail Lloyd joined the company as assistant ecologists after previously working as certified ecologists at Delta Simmons Environmental Consultants and AECOM, respectively.

Dr. Holly Smith, Director, said, “Since Harris Lamb started its environmental division in 2018, the team has expanded rapidly to offer a diverse range of services to the company’s customers. We are entering an incredibly busy time and with so many surveys and reviews it was important to develop the department and Abigail and Liam were a great fit.

“Abigail has extensive experience conducting research on protected species and is currently working to secure her Great Crested Newt and Bat licenses, and Liam is experienced in a number of skills including ecological surveying, protected species identification, environmental management, land – and building environment management. Plans and GIS mapping software, all of which are essential services in fulfilling our commitments to our customers.

Abigail said, “I’m interested in ecology and am always keen to improve my understanding in this dynamic area and from what I have learned about Harris Lamb’s work and the projects the team delivers for their clients , I am confident that I will be able to expand my skills and contribution along with my colleagues and secure the licenses that I am working towards to enhance my experience. I am delighted to be part of such an enthusiastic and experienced team. “

Liam added, “Since completing my BSc (Hons) in Life Sciences (Ecology and Environmental Management), I have made a commitment to broadening my knowledge and involvement in environmental management.

“After spending the last two years developing my skills in this area to help my colleagues identify species, coordinate survey strategies, and ensure timely reporting and analysis, I look forward to using my skills with the Support from Holly and the team to develop. ”
