Greycourt Broadcasts Management Transition | Enterprise Wire

PITTSBURGH – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Greycourt & Co., Inc., a leading advisor to very high net worth families and family offices, is pleased to announce several organizational changes related to the company’s long-term growth plans.

Effective July 1, 2021, Matthew Litwin has been named Chief Executive Officer of the company, succeeding Greg Friedman, who will become Chairman of the Board. Greg Curtis, founder and former chairman of Greycourt, has been named chairman emeritus. In addition, David Morris has been promoted to Managing Director and Head of Manager Research and Mark Thomas has been appointed Chief Investment Officer of Greycourt.

This leadership change is the third of its kind in Greycourt’s 33-year history and a cornerstone of the company’s plans to remain closely associated with its customers over the long term. This succession planning is an important part of Greycourt’s strategic commitment to provide continuity and stability to its customers.

It is important that none of Greycourt’s senior employees leave the company or reduce their commitment to Greycourt customers. Greg Curtis will remain an active member of Greycourt’s senior leadership team as a member of Greycourt’s board of directors and as an advisor to customers. Jim Foster, former Chief Investment Officer of Greycourt, will continue to be an important part of Greycourt’s management team, focusing on his role as an advisor to clients.

Mr. Friedman is a seasoned investor with 35 years of experience, including 20 years as a member of Greycourt’s investment and management team. Prior to joining Greycourt, he was a Principal at Windermere Investment Associates, advising wealthy families. A pioneer and expert in tax efficient investing, he leads Greycourt’s tactical analytics efforts with Mark Thomas, Greycourt’s Chief Investment Officer. In addition to his new role as Chairman of the Board of Directors, he will continue to advise a number of clients of the firm.

Mr. Litwin is a seasoned executive with 25 years of investment and leadership experience. He has been with Greycourt for the past 11 years and most recently headed the manager research team as president of the company. Prior to Greycourt, he had a successful career as a sell-side and buy-side analyst and portfolio manager at companies such as Goldman, Sachs & Co., Inc. and Viking Global Investors. As CEO, Mr. Litwin will focus on Greycourt’s growth and long-term development. He is responsible for building up the company’s longstanding Investment Advisory Services and the rapidly growing Collaborative Solutions division, which offers strategic advisory services for very large family offices. In addition to his new role as CEO, he will continue to be available as a consultant to several of the company’s customers.

Mr. Morris is a seasoned investor with over 20 years of experience in the private capital markets. He spent the last three and a half years at Greycourt, leading research activities for private markets. He was a founding member of Conversus Asset Management, a publicly traded private equity fund of funds valued at $ 2 billion. In his role as Head of Manager Research, he will lead the team responsible for providing ideas, insights and analysis to Greycourt clients across a wide range of asset classes and strategies.

Mr. Thomas has more than 20 years of experience analyzing and investing sophisticated investment strategies with unique technical skills in traditional and alternative investments, energy and other real assets. He has spent the past four years at Greycourt overseeing Greycourt’s research activities for liquid and semi-liquid managers. Before joining Greycourt, he spent ten years at CTC Consulting as a Senior Member of the Manager Research Group and Head of Hedge Fund Research. At the beginning of his career he worked at PPM Energy with a focus on deal structuring and asset valuation. In his role as CIO, he will chair Greycourt’s Investment Committee and lead efforts to determine the company’s views of the capital markets and overall investment philosophy and process.
