Real estate consultancy FHP has strengthened its business tariff team by investing in the appointment of two new employees.

Corporate rates expert Steve Bicknell joins the company after a 31-year career with the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) as a specialized rating advisor.

Steve will be based in FHP’s Nottingham office and will be responsible for advising FHP’s portfolio of national mall customers on how best to reduce their commercial tariff liabilities, including mitigating empty rates and reasonable value incentives.

He will also work with a number of fire and rescue agencies on their business rate liabilities.

Steve, a highly experienced real estate valuation specialist, was previously responsible for establishing the valuation basis for real estate in the Midlands in his role at VOA and has dealt with numerous objections to all types of real estate, including complex valuations.

Reece Pritchard joins FHP as Business Rate Account Manager and will provide a range of services to clients of the advisory center, including invoice management and forecasting that covers business rates and liabilities for empty real estate rates.

Reece has specialized in business tariffs for more than seven years and was previously tariff account manager at Colliers International, serving national clients such as WeWork and The Restaurant Group. He will be based in FHP’s Colmore Row office in Birmingham city center.
