Consumer credit reporting company Equifax has hired its first new chief marketing officer as it undergoes a data and digital transformation.

Roni Millard has joined the company as CMO and will oversee B2B, B2C, corporate communications and digital marketing. The task is to drive the marketing strategy, optimize the customer experience, support sales growth and build brand awareness. Millard reports to the senior GM for sales, product and marketing in Australia, Moses Samaha.

Millard has spent the past few years as a marketing and sales consultant. Prior to that, she spent more than four years as General Manager of Marketing for software provider Infotrack, a role that Millard added to the CMO50 of Australia’s most innovative and effective marketing leaders in 2017.

“Equifax is best known as a credit bureau, but we’re much more than that. It’s a misunderstanding that we’re sure to get rid of, ”Millard told CMO. “As a global data, analytics and technology company, we help people do their best financially with data and insights that help make decisions. Equifax plays a critical role in the financial system and the Australian economy that has never been more important than in those unknown times. ”

To consolidate its market position, Equifax has launched a digital transformation work program and is investing in a multi-year, cloud-native initiative that will focus on better integrating its various data sets. This will allow customers to consume and combine data like never before, Millard claimed.

“I was drawn to the role of joining a great team and improving our clients’ experience as we go through this digital transformation,” she continued.

“Equifax plays a key role in so many decisions, providing critical information and insight for consumers, businesses and government agencies. For consumers, we’re there for many of life’s great moments, whether it’s buying a home, car, or even a background check for a new job.

“For businesses, it helps make critical decisions including assessing credit risk and business relationships, identity verification and fraud prevention, hiring verification, improving work processes and ultimately creating a better, more seamless experience for end users.

“I look forward to contributing to our sales growth by informing and supporting our customers through our incredible range of offers.”
