Daniel O’Brien, Director of IT Support for Citrus, said, “Last year was a bad year for many of us. Now there is light at the end of the tunnel. We wanted to be part of something that celebrates the success of doing business in the city. Now, more than ever, the time has come to support local businesses.

‘We work with a lot of companies and have seen them fight their way through the pandemic. We really wanted to support. ‘

Citrus IT Support was founded in 1994 and was run as a small IT company providing IT support, communication and consulting in Hampshire. It was originally started by David Grenfell until it was merged into the Citrus Group in 2020.

Daniel encouraged companies to participate in the awards.

He added: ‘Portsmouth was ranked number one on the list of the UK’s most entrepreneurial cities. By attending, you will rub your shoulders with some of the UK’s best business owners.

‘There is an opportunity to network, meet like-minded business owners and be in the spotlight. We love building our network and hearing the inspiring success stories. ‘

Pat Smith of the University of Portsmouth Main Sponsor said: ‘This is an exciting category to showcase innovation, pioneering new markets or successfully building a great new company.

“These are all areas that help medium-sized companies grow.” Last year’s category winner was My Learning Cloud, which also won Overall Business of the Year. I wonder if this year’s recipients will do double that too. ‘

Awards recognize the best companies in the region

These awards recognize a cross-section of companies and the critical role they play in the region’s success.
