Mr. Cranston joins Forecast after two decades in technical leadership roles for large global companies such as Starwood Hotels and Xerox Global Services. “His skills and expertise give Forecast customers a competitive advantage through the effective use of the cloud, data and software,” said the Edinburgh-based technology company.

Neil Macdonald, who founded Forecast 2010, said, “Both Chris and Euan bring a wealth of skills and experience to Forecast. I have no doubt that as we scale to meet demand during this exciting time of our growth, they will have a huge impact on the company.

“Joining Chris as a non-executive director is a huge challenge for Forecast. Chris’ commercial pedigree and network in the Scottish business community are second to none. He will support the forecast management team as we achieve sustainable growth while remaining true to our values.

“Euan as Chief Technology Officer represents a serious step into forecast technology. Euan will be critical to our growth agenda and will help define and grow Forecast’s technology and transformation offering. The great thing about Euan is its rich business experience, which is perfect for supporting a business where data-driven business decisions are at the core of its purpose. “

Forecast, which has also opened offices in Australia and Canada, has doubled its workforce and revenue for three consecutive fiscal years. Another ten analysts are to be added by July.

The company announced in January that it would start a new year of recruitment, adding that demand for its services had increased despite the difficult economic environment. The reactions to the Covid-19 pandemic would have accelerated the digital transformation as more and more companies started to become data-driven and internet-first operations.

Paul van Loon, Head of Analytics at Forecast, said at the time: “Forecast is gaining recognition as the leading independent data consultancy for Scottish companies. With Decima – our exciting new data engineering service – companies can boost their digital acceleration.

“Currently, ambitious Scottish corporations or public organizations have limited access to the avant-garde data industry professional advisors. We are changing that and hope to be that solution in Scotland and beyond.”
