Edgar, Dunn & Company sells Roundtables business to Auriemma

The international consulting firm Edgar, Dunn & Company has sold its roundtables business to the Auriemma Group, a counterpart in the payments landscape.

Since its founding in 1978, Edgar, Dunn & Company has focused on advising executives and managers in the payments industry – including central and retail banks, payment technology providers and retailers – on all facets of their payment infrastructure, in terms of strategy, operations, transactions and digitization.

In addition to the consulting business, Edgar, Dunn & Company held industry rounds. The company’s roundtables are organized around the world several times a year and offer executives from the entire payment transaction scene a forum for exchanging new ideas and best practices.

Edgar, Dunn & Company, who ran the Roundtables for three decades, has now sold the unit to Auriemma, a London and New York-based group that specializes in providing insights and research to the payments community.

Peter Sidenius, Managing Director of Edgar, Dunn & Company stated, “While we have always valued our roundtables and the relationships we have built with our members, the continuing need to build stronger and better data analytics capabilities and tools will best in Auriemma’s larger company, group of round tables met. “

The transaction, advised by Consulting M&A (a boutique M&A advisor to consulting firms), closed on April 14, 2021. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Auriemma will integrate the acquired forum into Auriemma Roundtables, whose department is dedicated to building communities and organizing roundtables. This wing has around 40 communities that focus on topics such as payment strategy, business cards, e-commerce and mobile payments as well as installment credit management.

“This acquisition will strengthen our position as a key partner for financial services companies to navigate the current environment, identify best practices and perform peer benchmarking,” said Tom LaMagna, President of Auriemma Roundtables.

According to research by Capgemini, around 710 billion digital transactions are made worldwide each year – and that number grows if it grows rapidly due to the shift to online activities caused by Covid-19.

Edgar, Dunn & Company employs around 50 consultants and employees in offices in San Francisco (headquarters), London, Sydney, Paris, Frankfurt and Dubai.
