Ecosse Sports activities rebrands as Sportex with assist from Designhouse
The rebranding of Ecosse Sports as Sportex complements the company's unique recycling service for old artificial sports surfaces called "Sport" and "Texture" and "Technology".
Design house created a dynamic new name and visual identity for Ecosse sport this is in line with their ambitions for growth in the UK artificial sports surfaces and recycling market.
The company, which is the first and only UK company to offer a unique recycling service for old artificial sports surfaces, has been renamed Sportex, a name derived from “sport” and “texture” and “technology”. The new name is attractive across the UK market beyond the company's Scottish location.
The renaming and rebranding were commissioned to modernize the appearance of the company, which installs, maintains and recycles artificial sports surfaces. High profile clients come from a number of industries including municipalities, professional sports clubs, universities, schools, the Department of Defense and the private sector.
The new minimalist logo works equally well in black, or vice versa, in white and is designed to be used in a way normally associated with sportswear brands. A flexible shorthand allows customization using colors from the secondary palette, inspired by different pitch surfaces, to represent the three main service disciplines: install; care for; recycle.
The typography is sporty, clean, and contemporary, introducing Neue Haas Unica as a copy of text to complement Industry Inc's font used in the logo itself. A new graphic grid system is based on the markings of various sports surfaces.
Jamie Blamire, Managing Director of Sportex, said: “With a focus on sustainability and the environment, we are the only UK company to offer the full portfolio of artificial sports surface services. It was time to do an update and Designhouse understood exactly what we were looking for. We love our bold new sporty look. We know our new name and identity will support our future business growth and will allow us to sit down with prospects big and small across the UK. "
"As a proud Scot, I am delighted that Sportex is the first UK company to pioneer the recycling of artificial sports surfaces. This is a big step for sustainability in the UK," said Peter Dobie, Creative Director of Designhouse.
“Our creative challenge was to come up with a new name and visual identity that would reflect the company's established build expertise, but also leverage the appeal of the sports market it serves. We have designed a new brand identity that points to lifestyle sports brands and at the same time shapes the market for sustainable sports surfaces. We've given Sportex a brand that reflects the huge impact they can have on the UK sports industry. "
The new identity has been applied to the redesigned company website and social platforms. A broader rollout of all marketing materials, clothing and paintwork is planned for the coming months.
