Firms sought for student projects on digital marketing

The Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) invites national companies to collaborate with digital marketing students on a range of live digital marketing projects in the upcoming 2021/22 academic year. Supervised by experienced lecturers, students of the Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Digital Marketing and the Master of Science in Digital Marketing take on digital marketing projects for real companies.

The live digital marketing projects begin with the students designing a digital marketing strategy for their host company in the first semester before it is implemented in the second semester.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for companies to partner with our new technology university and fill their digital marketing resource gaps with our students’ expertise and knowledge of cutting-edge digital marketing methods,” said Louise Murray, Marketing Lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Hospitality at AIT.

Now in its fourth year, AIT’s digital marketing initiative has proven extremely successful, attracting the interest of a wide variety of companies from a wide variety of industries.

Over the past few years, the students have worked with companies such as Henshaw Eyewear, DPD, Neueda Technology, Alexion and Rye River Brewery; The digital marketing strategies that emerged from these collaborations were tailor-made and completely individually tailored to the respective company and its needs.

According to Dr. Aisling Keenan Gaylard, lecturer in digital marketing at the Faculty of Economics and Hospitality at AIT, the collaboration is extremely beneficial for the students.

“Our digital marketing students gain hands-on industry experience working with SMEs in the region. They can develop their analytical, creative, critical and organizational skills by working for these companies.
