Co-founder of Social Chunk unveiled as headline speaker at Scottish enterprise networking occasion

Alice Thompson, who left the company last year to start her own business coaching and consulting company, will attend the Love Your Business event.

The network initiative was launched in early 2018 by Michelle Brown, founder of Michelle Brown PR, to support and bring companies together. The events used to take place at the Black Ivy in Edinburgh but have been online since last March due to pandemic restrictions.

Previous speakers include Chris van der Kuyl, co-founder of 4J Studios, the video game developer behind the Minecraft Console editions.

Thompson has received three honorary doctorates from Glasgow University, Queen Margaret University and Heriot-Watt University and has won an ITV Pride of Britain Award and the Livingstone Medal from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society.

She said, “It is a real honor to be invited to headline the Love Your Business networking event this month.

“I spoke at this event for the first time over three years ago and so much has changed in my life since then, especially the decision to fly alone and follow my dreams, use my experiences and insights from the last ten years to Helping other people in companies who want to lead with integrity – I’m really looking forward to it. “

Zakia Moulaoui Guery, the founder of Invisible Cities community partner of Love Your Business, a non-profit that trains homeless people to be hiking guides in their own city, is also a guest speaker.

Brown said, “Alice has had an inspiring career journey that we look forward to seeing when she touches her at the event. So we are all the more excited to hear how she had all of these experiences and created her own business model that will really help people who are either starting out to grow their business or struggling due to setbacks and limitations from Covid.

“It will also be great to hear from Zakia Moulaoui Guery, who tells us about the ‘500 Miles in 5 Cities’ campaign and the virtual company tours they are running which are great team building activities.”
