After seven years as publisher of Fiets, Wagenaar founded CloseTheGap with HideMyBell in 2015. With five years of local manufacturing and product refinement experience, the brand now offers additional functional and minimalist accessories.

After working for ROTOR in business development, Lucas led several high-growth regional businesses through his consulting firm and helped build brands like Eddy Merckx and Niner Bikes. Lucas continues to specialize in innovative, differentiated brands by adding CloseTheGap to its portfolio of consulting clients such as Gates Carbon Drive.

“CloseTheGap shows that practicality doesn’t have to be avoided in order for your bike to look sharp,” said Lucas.

“I’m excited to offer cyclists around the world a UD carbon exterior mount with a stealth bell that looks like the parts on Team Jumbo Visma’s motorcycles – as well as many other accessories that make riding safer and more comfortable.”
