Capgemini buys the Australian SAP technology consultancy Acclimation

Capgemini has brought more performance to its Australian SAP offering with the acquisition of Melbourne-based SAP Gold Partner Acclimation. Sydney-based M&A advisory firm SCD supported the seller side of the transaction.

Acclimatization is a SAP trunk in Australia – with a firm grip on the technical side of workflow management and insights into optimal implementation strategies. Since it was founded in 2008, the company has grown to a workforce of 100 with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and an international office in Singapore.

SAP has recognized Acclimation’s services over the years, awarded the company Gold Partner status and named it Partner of the Year for SAP Business ByDesign in 2019 – an intelligent enterprise resource planning tool that enables coherence across all business functions. Capgemini has now attached this specialized team to its own SAP offering.

“By combining Capgemini’s global expertise with Acclimation’s talent and insights; As a leader in the SAP industry in Australia, this acquisition will strengthen our ability to help customers accelerate their transformation to run their entire business in the cloud, ”said Olaf Pietschner – former CEO of Capgemini Australia and current CEO for APAC and the Near East.

This is Capgemini’s second major acquisition in Australia in a year: In November 2020, the company acquired Melbourne-based, 500-strong digital marketing company RXP Services for $ 95 million. Scaling up is key, though the global tech major is also looking for a rethink.

Acclimatization brings this top culture as well as a solid customer portfolio: The company has previously worked with big names such as Coles Group, Powerlink and NSW Land Registry Services, among others.
