He said, “It’s an exciting time to return to Summers-Inman. Despite the challenges the country is facing, the company is very positive right now.

“It suits me well and it feels good to be back. I know a lot of people and how the business works and it was a familiar, friendly environment to come back to.

“There are many plans to take the company forward in Scotland and I look forward to being part of them. We are in a good position with the customer base we have and the point is to consolidate and use that base to move things forward with hopefully better times. “

Macdonald, born in Stornoway, is returning to the company after three years with the consulting firm Arcadis.

Regional General Manager Aynsley Cheatley added, “Having previously worked with Angus for nearly four years, we look forward to working with him again.

“Angus is recognized in the local industry as a world class volume appraiser and there is no one better placed to lead our teams and provide services to master agreements and other long-term customers.”
