Ballymena Enterprise Hub continues to develop its occupant portfolio

Connon Associates Limited, a digital chartered accountancy practice providing specialized outsourcing solutions and R&D tax credit advice, has moved to Ecos’ Innovation Center to accommodate the company’s future growth.

Director Peter Connon explained how the pandemic helped facilitate the move to an assisted workplace. “Before the pandemic, we visited our customers a lot,” he said. “But when working from home became the norm for them, it actually helped change the way we work. Personal collaboration has always played a key role in our work and that is an important reason why we invested in a new area of work.

“It’s great to be able to greet people in such a fantastic setting as work life returns to normal.”

Mayor Cllr William McCaughey along with Peter Connon (Connon Associates), Lucinda Stirling and Joy Brooking and Andy McDonald (Catalyst).

Peter says the business is growing and he plans to double the current workforce from four over the next three years. He also believes the recent job postings in the region will offer “many opportunities”.

“Many of the clients we serve in Fintech, SAAS and Digital Creative are based in Belfast and the North West, but we wanted a central location and Ballymena was ideal. Ballymena has always been a bustling business city and it’s fantastic to hear that the area is creating jobs in a number of different industries. This will help create a ripple effect across the supply chain and allow us to improve our standing in the wider local business community. “

As part of the larger Catalyst ecosystem across Northern Ireland, the Ecos facility has 20,000 square meters of Class A office space and capacity for up to 125 employees.

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council Mayor, Alderman William McCaughey, said, “The Innovation Center at Ecos is only part of the council’s vision to create a smart, digital innovation district in Ballymena.”
