Atos acquires Czech knowledge science consultancy DataSentics

Atos takes over Czech data science consultancy DataSentics

In its eighth deal this year, Atos has acquired DataSentics, a technology consultancy specializing in data science based in the Czech Republic.

Founded in 2016, DataSentics is a data science company focused on developing artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions. “Our team consists of 100 experienced data scientists and data engineers with a combination of experience from both the agile world of digital start-ups and from large international corporations,” says Petr Bednarik, founder of DataSentics.

From its headquarters in Prague, DataSentics sells its solutions in Central and Western Europe to large companies with a strong focus on customers in the financial services, retail and media industries. The firm’s clients include well-known companies such as Allianz, Generali, Microsoft, Nestle, Red Bull and Vienna Insurance Group.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to expand our existing artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities,” said Pierre Barnabé, Executive Vice President and Head of Big Data & Security at Atos. “Our combined skills will help us deliver more business value to our customers.”

The Czech deal builds on previous data science acquisitions, including those of Ipsotek in the UK and Miner & Kasch in the US.

For DataSentics, the merger with Atos will “accelerate how our artificial intelligence products and solutions really affect companies around the world,” said Bednarik.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021.
