Energy efficiency companies have the opportunity to apply for a spot on a national procurement framework used by local authorities and housing associations.

The tender is now live for Scotland Excels Energy Efficiency Contractor Framework – Expected to bring up to £ 200m worth of business opportunities each year.

The second generation framework will help municipalities and other social landlords source the goods and services they need to implement energy efficiency measures in their homes, cut emissions, tackle energy poverty and create warmer homes.

The framework is valid for four years and offers an effective and efficient way to upgrade the housing stock and offers the opportunity to procure a complete home upgrade.

It includes professional services such as energy efficiency planners, coordinators, experts as well as structural measures such as wall, floor and roof insulation, door and window replacement, retrofitting, and roof repair and replacement.

This also includes heating, hot water and ventilation measures for electrical and gas systems as well as renewable energies and energy storage measures.

Julie Welsh, General Manager of Scotland Excel, said: “With sustainability at its heart, the new framework for energy efficiency contractors will help communities and housing associations in their efforts to source the goods and services they need to achieve local improvements that benefit present and future generations.

“The framework is designed to help social landlords improve the housing stock to create warmer, more energy efficient homes, tackle energy poverty and meet national net zero targets. It will play a key role in supporting Scotland’s green recreation and I look forward to the award of the new framework. “

The framework reflects the goals of the Scottish Government’s Heating Strategy for Buildings.

The call for tenders ends October 8th and is available on Public Contracts Scotland.
