ACC Aviation is seeing more than 20% year-over-year growth in the first quarter of 2021, despite the heavy impact of the global pandemic on aviation. This corresponds to a growth in charter sales of 200% compared to the previous year in 2020.

The company has worked internationally in aircraft sales transactions, corporate advisory and restructuring programs, as well as advisory projects, including a number in Africa, which has become a leading emerging market for start-up carriers.

The consulting activities included:

  • Commissioned by a Central African flag bearer to arrange and advise on the financing of its order book for forward (aircraft).
  • Commissioned by a CIS forwarder to develop the business model for the development of its own freighter operation and to advise on various financing options.
  • Engaged by a West African financial institution to advise on its aviation portfolio strategy. The work involved several airlines in the reception area and the storage of secured assets in an aircraft finance vehicle.
  • Hired by a government sponsored financier to develop a business plan for a new domestic and regional airline in West Africa.
  • Hired by a helicopter operator to conduct a feasibility study for a new helicopter tour company based in the Middle East.
  • Tasked by a group of investors to evaluate the feasibility of developing an aircraft dismantling and dismantling facility in North Africa.
  • Completion of the engagement of the state shareholder of a flag bearer based in southern Africa to develop its turnaround and restructuring strategy.

“It was the most unprecedented time for commercial aviation and we are still out of the woods,” said Phil Mathews, CEO of ACC Aviation. “Our 54-strong team, which works on five continents, has grown massively to support airlines with all possible challenges. Thanks to our diverse areas of expertise, we have been able to expand our support for airlines and financiers.

“We pride ourselves on being the partner airlines turn to when it comes to flying, leasing, selling aircraft and valuing assets to raise capital.

“Our evolving expertise has benefited our business and we are now looking forward to further expanding our portfolio in the second half of this year.”

Eighteen months ago, ACC Aviation’s consulting projects focused on developing plans for high growth airlines. This became apparent in March 2020 as airlines faced the uncertainty caused by the pandemic. Since the work of Covid-19 ACC Aviation began, the work has largely been divided into two areas:

  1. Helping existing airlines restructure their business, raise new capital, renegotiate financial commitments, and move excess assets to prepare for the future.
  2. Support new airlines or such “rebirthing” – to fill gaps in the market left by incumbent airlines, and to take advantage of the availability of cheaper aircraft and a new balance sheet.

In recognition of the company’s strong performance, ACC Aviation ranked 85th in the Sunday Times BDO National Profit Track 100 Awards last month. The special edition “Covid-19” recognized the impressive achievements of all companies presented in the past and highlighted the contribution they made to the economy and society during the pandemic. ACC Aviation joined the Profit Track 100 series for the first time in 2020 and has been featured in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 since 2013.
