  • The unemployment rate for people with disabilities is the highest in seven years.
  • People with some form of disability were 4 times more likely to have attempted suicide

In addition, Antion found correlation analysis studies suggesting that people with disabilities had significantly lower self-image and self-esteem and greater social isolation than people without disabilities, as well as significantly less education, more overprotection in childhood, and poorer quality of intimate relationships and lower levels Employment rates.

candidate Charlie Collins has juvenile macular degeneration and vision of 20/500, with 20/20 being the standard for perfect vision.

Ed Borowiec has diabetes and is house handcuffed because of a failing left foot and has to use a walker.

Robbie Messerschmitt, has 3 serious diseases including ankylosing spondylitis that affects the spine, pelvis, knees and shoulders, osteoporosis, which causes bones to become fragile, and arthritis, which causes painful inflammation and stiffness in your joints.

How does your day start “It’s difficult to get out of bed in the morning. I’m as stiff as a board. My ankles or knees sometimes buckle because they don’t always support my weight. I’m stooped and have to stabilize myself to take a step forward.” . “

The school is currently reviewing applications for two more people with disabilities to attend the school.

Antion’s goal in this pilot program is to hire these people in jobs that can be linked to their struggles and then expand the program to many more people with physical problems.
