5 Methods to Market Your Podcast (And Get Extra Subscribers)
At the moment it is pretty clear that podcasts are not released everywhere and at all times.
Since Spotify is reportedly willing to spend $ 100 million to secure the infamous Joe Rogan Experience, they put BIG (seriously … huge) on podcasts that stay nearby. 💰
The good news is that you don't need millions of downloads like Rogan to create a successful podcast. You can have ten, hundreds or thousands of listeners and be able to create sustainable lead generation for your business or partner with the right sponsors for whom you can convert.
But where do you start?
If you already have a podcast and are wondering how to get more subscribers, or if you are brand new and need to start from scratch, we will show you how to market your podcast so you can reach more listeners.
Here are 5 ways to market your podcast and get more subscribers.
# 1: Interview with people with a dedicated audience
This is a strategy you are probably familiar with. There is a reason why so many podcasts are based on an interview model. When you interview someone with an audience, your content is presented to new faces. This is one of the most popular ways to grow your subscribers.
The key to working with influencers in your industry is making sure they have a dedicated audience. If someone has 10,000 Instagram followers to share their interview with and you see that their posts are an average of 500 to 1,000 like everyone else, this is a really good person to work with.
You have a very engaged audience (5-10%), which also shows the potential for a high conversion rate. If they tell their followers about their interview with you, they will be interested in listening. That means they come to your podcast.
But let us make one thing clear: you are not just interviewing people because of their audience. You want to bring people to your show who make sense based on the topics you are talking about.
If someone has a tiny following (or has no following), but they'll give your audience one golden nugget after another with fantastic information … bring it up!

# 2: Create timely episodes
Has Elon Musk tweeted something crazy (again)? Let's say your podcast is based on interviewing entrepreneurs. This is a great time to record an episode that talks about what Elon tweeted and what your thoughts and thoughts from your guests are about it.
By creating timely podcast episodes, users now want to listen to this content. They are not stored in their "Hear Later" folder, which we all know can become a black hole. People will want to listen to this content immediately so they can stay up to date.

To keep up to date with what's happening in your industry, check out the top players' Twitter profiles and check this option to receive notifications when they tweet something new. If someone tweets something you know will be big news, schedule a podcast so you can talk about it.
# 3: Create video snippets that you can share on social media
Think of these snippets of video like the starter before your podcast dinner. They want people to get an idea of how good the food will be – and look forward to having dinner served. In this case, dinner is your podcast episode, and the appetizers are the snippets of video you'll tease with.
Using video snippets to market your podcast doesn't require a great podcast hosting facility. All you need is a reasonable amount of light and a camera (you can even use your iPhone) to record the video. If you have zoom interviews, you can record your screen.
Then take snippets from this episode and post them on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn … wherever you expand your audience. Each snippet should have the following:
- Title over video
- Captions in the video
- A 1–2 minute conversation that ends in a complete thought
A short explanation of this last part "The Complete Thought": Don't end this video with a cliffhanger that makes people feel like they saw your content and didn't get what was promised. Make sure that you keep the promise made in the heading.

Marketing your podcast doesn't just have to be your job – you can ask your subscribers for help. Regardless of whether this creates memes that you think are funny and want to share, inspirational quotes, instructional video clips, etc. You can publish them in your Instagram stories, feeds, Twitter feeds or LinkedIn to create FOMO for the content of your episode .
You can create memes on Imgflip or just write content over an image or video.

# 5: Promote episodes on social media regularly
Just because an episode is a few months old doesn't mean you can't go on talking about it. On social media, you can continue the conversation you had in your podcast episode indefinitely.
For example, you can switch to Instagram stories and talk about something mentioned in the podcast. Then you can say:
"I went into more detail about why Mars really isn't Elons Souldog and how I can find out what you are in episode 8 of my podcast. I will include a link to that episode in my biography if you listen to and find out want what YOUR Souldog is. "
And of course you will advertise your new episodes every time they come out.

- Show behind the scenes how to record the podcast
- Talk about upcoming guests instead of just announcing that you interviewed them (similar to BTS).
- Ask the audience to give you funny facts or ask for exclamations
